Players and officials of Kumasi Asante Kotoko have returned to Ghana after their elimination from the CAF Confederations Cup On Wednesday.
The entire contingent touched down at the Kotoko International airport this afternoon having lost on penalties to Club Athlétique Renaissance Aiglon of Congo.
Some players have apologized for their defeat to CARA dding that the supporters deserved better.
Kotoko went into last Wednesday’s game having won the first leg 1-0 at the Baba Yara stadium inside Kumasi, thanks to a 93rd minute goal by striker Yakubu Mohammed.
CARA scored 1-0 in regulation time an action that took to game to penalties. Kotoko goalkeeper, Felix Annan stood tall among his colleague despite Kotoko’s exit from the competition having saved three penalties and scoring one himself during the shootout.
Kotoko will now turn their attention to preparing for the upcoming Ghana Premier League which is scheduled to start next weekend.
Their first match of the league campaign will be against WAFA at the dreaded Sogakope stadium.
