Rashid Sumaila Joins Omani Top Side Saham Club

Ghanaian international Rashid Sumaila has sealed a move to top Omani side Saham United in the Omani Professional League.

Rashid whose contract with Kuwaiti side Qadsia SC at the end of July this year signed the new deal on Thursday in the company of some top hierarchy of the Club.

The 28-year old according to reports signed a one-year deal, with a possibility of extension when it runs out next year.

The defender joins the team as a free agent started his career at Ebusua Dwarfs and played for Asante Kotoko before moving abroad.

He has spent the past six years of his career playing in South Africa, Kuwait, Qatar, and Serbia.

During his stint at Qadsia, Sumaila enjoyed loan spells at Qatari club Al-Gharafa SC and Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.

The former Asante Kotoko SC defender has 10 caps for the Ghana national team since making his debut in September 2012.

Saham Club is an Omani sports club based in Saham, Oman. The club is currently playing in the Oman Professional League, the top division of the Oman Football Association. Their home stadium is Sohar Regional Sports Complex.
