Ghanaian international Nicholas Opoku is pleased with Amiens FC’s 2-0 away win over Sochaux in the French Ligue 2 played on Monday night.

The Black Stars defender who has become an integral part of the Amiens FC setup, played the entire duration of the game manning the defense to the best of his abilities.

The game which looked to be heading for a goalless draw, saw a dramatic turn on the 92nd minute when the visitors stunned the hosts with the opener via a penalty converted by Amadou Ciss. One became two within seconds as Cheick Timite sealed the win in a dramatic form.

This is our third win of the season and its very important for us because we had a patchy start to the season. After winning our first game on match day one, the results weren’t all that pleasant, but we kept pushing and after that win last week, we knew we could commence our steady climb to the summit of the league table”, Opoku mentioned in an interview with www.ghanasoccernews.org.

We are very elated with today’s win and looking forward to more of such in the coming weeks. The fighting spirit was good and even though it was 90 minutes we kept going and that did the trick for us”, he added.

Opoku who won Amiens plater of the month for September won the man of the match in last week’s game against Grenoble, a game Amiens FC won by a lone goal assisted by Nicholas Opoku.
