Interim head coach of Asante Kotoko, Michael Osei has mentioned that if the Management and Board of the Club decide to give him the job on a permanent basis, he is ready.
Osei was mandated by the Management to take over the technical directorship of the team after head coach David Duncan was asked to step aside following a string of unimpressive outings that saw the team languishing in the relegation zone of the Ghana Premier League table after matchday 6.
Since taking over, he has overturned the fortunes of the playing body with two wins out of two, beating Liberty Professionals 3-1 at the Baba Yara stadium in the match week 7 of the Ghana Premier League, and beating Real 24 Hours FC by two goals in the MTN FA Cup round of 32 played over the weekend.
If it were you what would you do”, Michael Osei asked the journalist who asked him whether he was ready for the permanent position of Asante Kotoko head coach.
“I feel my works speak for me and I dont have to come out and tell the whole world what I can do, but having served the Club as an assistant coach all these years has groomed me into a better coach than I was and I believe that if the chance comes, I am ready.”
He was quick to add that he wasn’t looking at that position just yet, as he will only do what his employers tell him.But for now
“But for now ,I am still the assistant coach and will do all I can to help the team win as many matches as possible with the help of the other members of the technical team.”
