Veteran goalkeeper, Osei Boateng has called it quits from active soccer, www.ghanasoccernews.com can confirm.
The once agile goalkeeper has been seen it all in terms of local football and has kept the post for some top Clubs in Ghana like Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko, Great Olympics, Bofoakwa Tano, King Faisal, among others.
According to the player who is currently the goalkeepers trainer for Ghana Football Division One League side Accra Lions FC. he decided to call it quits soon after his former Club, Great Olympics got relegated again.
“I have seen it all and done it all. There is nothing left for me anymore on the field apart from impacting my vast experience to the upcoming ones, and that is what I am doing right now with the folks here at Accra Lions FC”, Osei Boateng told our editor Dada Oliseh at the Nii Amoah Okromansah park in Amrahia after the Division One League match between Vision FC and Accra Lions, a game the hosts won 2-1.
“I am proud of what I have achieved so far in my career and I feel its time to move on. I did not announce it formally because I didn’t think it was necessary, but yes, I have quit the game, I am now a coach”, he added.
