Daniel Amartey Plays Full Throttle As Leicester Thrash City 5-2

Ghanaian international Daniel Amartey put up a superlative performance for Leicester City as they thrashed Manchester City 5-2 at the Etihad stadium in the Premier League action this afternoon.

The Ghanaian international for the first time since his return from injury, was named in the starting line up and he had a good performance throughout the game, showing  no signs of nervousness or match rusty.

Manchester City’s Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (L) is tackled by Leicester City’s Ghanaian midfielder Daniel Amartey.

Amartey’s confidence at the defense of Leicester City was evident as he helped put the brakes on the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Mahrez and any other dangerous attacks from the home side.

It is safe to say that Amartey has settled easily into the Leicester City defensive setup and is expected to be a constant feature for head coach Brendan Rodgers who was full of praise for the Ghanaian international.

Jamie Vardy scored a hat trick for Leicester, whilst James Maddison and Youri Tielemans got the other goals.

Riyad Mahrez and Nathan Ake scored for Manchester City.
