Ghanaian international Daniel Amartey was at his usual best on Wednesday night as Leicester City beat fellow Premiership side, Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 to book their place in the quarter-final of the English FA Cup.
The intelligent defender was named in the starting XI of coach Brendan Rodgers’ team, gave a very good account of himself at the heart of the team’s defense forming a very solid back three with Caglar Soyuncu and James Justin, an action that saw the defense watertight.
On a few occasions, Amartey surged forward to help with the attack and he did so with precision, keeping his composure in both on and off situations.
He played the entire duration of the game which saw Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho score with 15 seconds to end the game.
Head coach, Brendan Rodgers was full praise for the defender and looks likely to maintain him in the starting XI in their League game against defending champions Liverpool on Saturday
