The Black Stars of Ghana have arrived safely in Kumasi six clear days before they play the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia.
Coach Kwesi Appiah’s men who have been holding a non-residential training camp in Accra in preparation for the match since Wednesday moved camp to Kumasi for the opening qualifying match as they arrived in the Garden City by 12:30pm.
The Black Stars hit the ground running with their first training session on Monday 3:30pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and will hold its daily training sessions at the same time at the same venue until Saturday.
The Black Stars have also planned to visit an orphanage in Kumasi to make some donations and also give hope to the kids.
Almost all the players invited have turned out in training with the local players topping the headlines. Captain Asamoah Gyan trained with the team only once in Accra but was actively involved in the team’s training session on Monday at the Baba Yara stadium.
None of the players based in the Ghana Premier League were at training both on Friday and Saturday and due the weekend’s Ghana Premier League matches at all the designated match venues.
Most of them joined the team on Monday at training and it is expected that they will record a full house on Tuesday.
