Aisha Buhari Cup 21: Adubea, Konadu On Target As Queens Tame Lionesses


The Black Queens of Ghana this afternoon recorded their first win at the ongoing Aisha Buhari Cup by beating the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 2-0.

Coach Mercy Tagoe’s side who lost their opening game 3-0 against South Africa on Friday, put up a spirited performance from start to finish with the likes of Priscilla Adubea causing problems for the Cameroonian defense all afternoon.

The Indomitable Lionesses had some decent chances but failed to convert with the first half ending goalless, but Ghana on top in terms of ball possession.

Priscilla Adubea broke the deadlock with a sublime finish in the 60th minute before Vivian Adjei Konadu added the second from a solo effort in the 89th minute.

The 2-0 win for the Queens sets the pace for the Black Queens ahead of their next clash with Nigeria later this year.
